TUFF Bags Salutes Our

Volunteers of the Month!

Renee Parker

August 2025 Volunteer of the Month

TUFF Bags Volunteer of the Month for August is Renee Parker!
* Renee has been volunteering with TUFF Bags for almost 5 years.
* Renee found out about TUFF Bags through her job at Tuscarawas County Probate/Juvenile Court and says once she realized children were going hungry, she had to help. She also organizes groups of co-workers as well as her 4-H Club to help pack bags.
* Her favorite part of volunteering is the camaraderie, meeting other volunteers, working with her 4-H kids and juveniles, and the competition. (We love when Renee is around because she loves to sing and has the most wonderful laugh and energy)
* Renee's encouragement to anyone who hasn't volunteered with us is that "TUFF Bags is an amazing program. It fulfills several needs in our community. First, it provides kid-friendly food for any kid in the county who wants it (as long as his/her school district participates). Second, it provides an experience for at-risk youth to learn that there are other kids that have problems too. Those young people learn how to help solve that problem, and to learn how great it feels to help someone else while expecting nothing in return. Several of the kids I’ve spoken to at packing days have told me they intend to keep volunteering after their court-mandated sentence is finished. Third, it provides an easy way for most anyone to be able to volunteer in their community. It doesn’t matter your age, your background, nothing. On packing day, there is something for everyone to do. I would encourage EVERYONE to at least try it. We have so many great civic groups, businesses and retirees who are making a huge difference in our community every single week. Be part of it!" (We simply could not say it any better!)
Thank you Renee, for giving your time, support and love to TUFF Bags. We appreciate you!
